Kayaking with the scout group

Kayaking for scout groups

A fantastic and memorable experience for the scout group can be kayaking. We at Dalarö Kajak are used to organize kayaking tours for scout groups. We will help you plan the adventure and are happy to suggest routes that suit your wishes. We have many kayaks for rental and are therefore able to receive large groups, as many as 70 people at the same time. You have the opportunity to rent kayaks for the day or why not bring a tent and paddle to an uninhabited island and sleep overnight. You can also go on a fantastic multi-day trip in the beautiful archipelago outside Dalarö. If you need to rent tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats or Trangia stoves, we have them. We offer discounted prices for scout groups. Contact us and we can tell you more.

This is what one of the scout groups that visited us says:

“We can unreservedly recommend Dalarö Kayak to all other scout groups and outdoor enthusiasts. Communication was very easy and straightforward from the beginning. Furthermore, we always received good tips, especially when we were uncertain during planning or on the tour itself. This support and the first-class equipment made our adventure in the archipelago a complete success!”

“We were looking for a suitable rental for our planned kayaking tour in the Swedish archipelago. Our search led us via Google to Dalarö Kayak. For our group, it was important to find a provider that could not only supply a sufficient number of kayaks for our size but also offered favorable conditions. Dalarö Kayak met these requirements.

The contact was straightforward via email. We received very simple, quick, and helpful answers to all our questions from Dalarö Kayak. Communication was consistently clear and efficient, which significantly simplified the planning of our trip.

When we arrived at Dalarö Kayak, everything was  prepared: the kayaks were already ready. This allowed us a very smooth start. We had enough time to pack our gear calmly and receive the important safety briefing. The Dalarö Kayak team was very patient with our group, and we were even able to jointly determine our route upon arrival.

We were absolutely convinced by the quality of the equipment. The kayaks provided to us were in very good, almost new condition, which made paddling particularly pleasant. Furthermore, everything we needed was available: from spray skirts, paddles, and life vests to sea charts. It was particularly practical that we could rent additional dry bags and water canisters as needed, which made our tour even more comfortable and safe.

The entire kayaking tour through the archipelago was an unforgettable experience for our group. Thanks to Dalarö Kayak’s  recommendations, we were always able to find overnight spots for our group on the islands, which gave us a lot of security in planning.

The island world is beautiful and diverse, and we constantly found idyllic coves or small rocky plateaus for breaks and resting. We paddled between 9 and 22 kilometers per day, which allowed us a relaxed daily routine with a leisurely breakfast. A minor challenge was sometimes keeping our large group together with varying skill levels, but even here, we always found a sheltered bay to wait for each other.

The weather cooperated throughout the entire tour, so we had no difficulties paddling. Only the weather forecast was sometimes a bit tricky, as we noticed, for example, that the wind tended to pick up slightly in the afternoons. In the evenings, we could often make campfires on the islands, as there was enough dry, already broken wood – that was a real highlight.

Our entire kayaking tour spanned five days and was an intensive community experience for our scout group, which consisted of participants aged 12 to 27. Although we had tents with us, we didn’t need them due to the consistently good weather – a special highlight was sometimes ending the evenings around the campfire with communal singing.

We started our tour with eight kayaks. While some were a bit uncertain at first, paddling in a sea kayak felt completely normal by the second day. Surprisingly, we found the sea kayaking tour less strenuous than a canoe tour, as the boats glide efficiently through the water. A great advantage of the sea kayaks was the surprisingly large storage space, which allowed us to carry everything necessary for five days, although we had to remember that all water for the entire trip had to be carried by ourselves.

The experience strengthened our community, as we constantly helped and supported each other. The amazing nature of the archipelago provided a stunning backdrop for the physical challenge and the many hours of paddling. At the same time, there was much to discover and learn – for example, we found elk droppings, which was an exciting insight into the local wildlife.

We can unreservedly recommend Dalarö Kayak to all other scout groups and outdoor enthusiasts. Communication was very easy and straightforward from the beginning. Furthermore, we always received good tips, especially when we were uncertain during planning or on the tour itself. This support and the first-class equipment made our adventure in the archipelago a complete success!”
